FAQs

Can I swim in a chlorine pool or the ocean with latex?

Yes, but you must rinse immediately. Chlorine and sea salt are corrosive to latex over time. After your swim, rinse the swimsuit in fresh, lukewarm water as soon as possible. Never let pool water dry on the latex, as the chemicals will cause the rubber to become brittle or discolored.

Does latex become transparent when wet?

Standard colors won't, but light or translucent colors might. Dark colors like black or red remain opaque. However, white or "translucent" shades can become significantly more revealing when wet and stretched. If you want full coverage, choose a thickness of 0.4mm or higher and avoid "semi-transparent" variants for public swimming.

How do I protect the shine from sunlight and sunscreen?

Avoid oil-based sunscreens at all costs. Most sunscreens contain oils and fats that will instantly dissolve latex. If you need sun protection, apply oil-free sunblock and let it dry completely before dressing. To maintain shine, use a water-resistant silicone polish, which also acts as a minor protective barrier against UV rays.

Why does my swimsuit feel much tighter in the water?

It's "suction," not shrinkage. When water enters the suit and is pushed out, it creates a vacuum-like suction effect against your skin. For competitive or active swimming, ensure you choose a racing-cut design with reinforced seams, as the resistance of the water can put extra tension on the shoulder straps and crotch.
