Structure vs. Compression. A Fashion Corset usually uses thinner latex ($0.4mm$) and plastic boning for aesthetics. A Waist Trainer or heavy corset uses thicker latex ($0.6mm - 1.0mm$) and steel boning to significantly reduce the waistline. Fashion corsets are for looks, while heavy corsets are for dramatic body shaping.
Order based on your "Natural Waist" minus 2-4 inches. A corset needs to be smaller than your actual body to work. However, in latex, the material provides less "give" than fabric. If you are a beginner, choose a size 2 inches ($5cm$) smaller than your waist. Never go too small, or the tension will cause the latex to tear near the busk or eyelets.
Loosen the laces fully before putting it on. Never try to force the front busk closed while the back is tight. Apply silicone lube to your skin first. Close the front busk/zipper, then slowly pull the laces from the middle. This ensures the tension is distributed evenly across the reinforced panels rather than pulling directly on the rubber.
Hand wash only and dry vertically. Use pH-neutral soap and lukewarm water. Do not soak for long periods to prevent the steel bones from rusting. After rinsing, wipe the latex dry with a towel and hang it to air dry completely. Ensure the fabric channels holding the bones are 100% dry before storing to avoid mold or odor.
